The Tigers set a competitive target of 120 with Nutbean (2-9) and Mellowship (2-16) the pick of the bowlers.

The Alternatives started steadily with the ever-dependable Green (25 retired) and Chappell (25 retired) again performing well. But the middle-order struggled, and 22 runs were needed off the last 3 overs. The new batsman, Boden, strode purposefully out to the crease and then proceeded to completely miss the ball off the next 5 balls. All seemed lost, but luckily the next over proved to be more fortuitous. Nutbean (11 not out) and Boden (20 not out) smashed the ball to the boundary and the Alts won a nail-biter with 2 balls to spare.

 

 

The main highlight here was Jon hitting a glorious 6 at the beginning of the last over – and then get us over the line – more heroics from Skip!
