End of season spree
win number four
Dear oh dear oh dear!!
‘enners in full flow
The Alternatives’ young cricketing pro, Henry Olliff (2-13), terrorised the Rottingdean top-order taking vital early wickets. However, a recovery followed until Nutbean (1-30) got the breakthrough, and the Rottingdean tail was tied down by tight bowling from Score (2-14) and Bryden (1-18) at the end of the innings.
Score in the batting groove
In response, Score (28) continued his golden patch of batting but a flurry of wickets left the side struggling at 48-4. Fortunately, the middle order held it together, and Thompson (32), Dan Olliff (14) and Boden (52 not out) saw the side to a deserved and confident victory. Four wins in-a-row!!
Boden clocks up another 50, our skipper is doing us proud – leading from the front
Footnote:
Chappell was desperate to avoid the ignominy of being run-out a further time this season. However, his desperation led to misfortune for both himself and the opposition wicket-keeper.
Chappers was called for a risky single by whipper-snapper Score that meant he had to accelerate to a lightning speed just to get home safely. Good old Chappers managed to make it but his unaccustomed speed did not allow for any breaking distance. Chappell clattered into the keeper, and then managed to knock him over, and finally sat on him. To add further insult, Chappers let rip a mighty relief fart that echoed around the Rottingdean stadium. The umpire did not dare call him out (but the fart clearly was).
Attention all Alts
