Result:  Alts suffer another defeat

LAST MINUTE.COM XI TOO STRONG FOR BRAVE ALTS

 

 

The main feature of this match was the fact that it even happened -

 

It was late Friday night and our Glorious leader has to inform his loyal troops that the opposition had dropped out at the very last minute and that Sundays match would not be happening – perhaps word of the might of the Alts juggernaught of a season had reached our trembling oppo.

Sadly, it was game off!!

Not so said Mellowship – as luck would have it he had just received his new Motorola cell phone and was keen to test it out

“We will play this Sunday…. it is my mission to make it so”….

and he proceeded to call everyone and anyone connected with cricket in Sussex….. and he did not cease making calls until he tracked down an unsuspecting team…. Game on !!!

 

 

Of course it turns out they were much much better than us and we slipped to uneventful defeat… however what we had got was some invaluable practise and a team bonding session prior to our massive game the following week versus Burpham. We would reap the dividends of this game the very next week.

 

So a massive “big up” to Mel for even making it happen.
