Results: Alts suffer two hiccups to their glorious season
Scores: Alts: not many runs Zambooka: more runs than us
20/20 RAZMATAZZ NOT SUITED TO THE ALTS PURIST CRICKETING DNA
The Alst first foray into the brash modern world of 20/20 proofed less than successful on the cricketing front. Played against a cauldron of noise, strobe lights and scantily clad cheerleaders the intense atmosphere of the East Brighton Arena seemed to phase our team of old school warriors.
Two matched were played against a very strong Zambuca Tigers outfit hailing from Queens Park.
A very brief summary of our 20/20 format was that our bowling was very impressive and the Tigers were restricted on both outings. However our batting was not so successful. This form of cricket needs a major re-think in terms of our mental approach – we seemed to be under the impression that 20/20 meant getting a score of just 20 runs.
Under the impression that actually scoring 20 runs was good – The Alts here seen celebrating reaching the 20 run milestone
The bitter taste of defeat became a regular midweek experience – men we must re-group and come back stronger
ANY ADDITIONAL FEEDBACK AND COMMENTS WELCOME:
We may need a re-think on this for next year – perhaps we need to start by having a 20/20 name change – The Alternative Scorchers?
